Don’t miss the Berkeley Baroque Strings final concert of the season with works by British composers George Frideric Handel, Henry Purcell, and John Blow. Caroline Jou Armitage, soprano, and Martin Lewis, bass, will duet in “Soll Mein Kind” from Brockes Passion and “Caro! Bella!” from Giulio Cesare by Handel. Handel’s “Concerto Grosso Op. 3 No. 3 in G major” and “Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 3 in E minor” with Nicole Capiga and Titia Martin, concertino violins, and Kelly Woodard, concertino cello, are also highlights of the evening. The delightful “Chacony Z730 in G minor” by Purcell and “Chaconne in G major” by Blow round out the dances.
Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, frequent leader of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and member of the New Esterhazy Quartet and Agave Baroque, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.
The concert takes place on Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 pm at the First Congregational Church, 2330 Durant Ave., Berkeley.
