Acclaimed jazz pianist and composer Jeff Haas brings his Quintet back to Kerrytown Concert House for another chapter of Jazz Meets Judaica with a Taste of Funk on Saturday, June 1 at 8pm. Jeff”s Quintet will feature Anthony Stanco on trumpet, Laurie Sears on saxophones and flute, Marion Hayden on bass, and Tariq Gardner on drums. Haas’s deeply personal original music seamlessly blends his passion for jazz, funk, Judaica and world music. Haas has received commissions from Chamber Music America, Arts Midwest, the National Jewish Federation and the City of Detroit to name a few. In the words of legendary jazz pianist Dave Brubeck, “In combining these great musical traditions, [Haas] has created a soulful music that transcends ethnic barriers.”
“I love putting new original music in front of this group of deeply talented musicians. They put their heart and soul into my music,” enthuses Haas. “ We are really looking forward to sharing several new original tunes in the intimacy of Kerrytown.”
It's going to be an expressive night filled with nothing but good, passionate energy that we hope to share with you!
