 JOURDAN IMANI KEITH play THE UTERINE FILES is a trilogy following three black women through living, learning and remembering the war against their wombs. Virginia Mary's life from her childhood enslvement in the cornfields, a prominent professor that falls ill after visiting the plantation and intergalactic Griot, Afritiki who arrives from the future to find her. Utilizing the unique space at Black & Tan Hall we will stage a three ring circus of worlds colliding and hidden historical health secrets revealed. The Uterine files will holistically approach the topic of the disproportionate amount of black woemn who fall victim to involuntary sterilization gynecological experimentation and systemic stress syndrome. The uterine files gives writer Jourdan Imani Keith and producer /director Sadiqua Iman an opportunity to combine their love of beautiful language the spectacle of theatrical production and advocacy of the health of black women.
