Cazo Dance Theatre would like to welcome everyone back to the stage with their all-new feature-length dance production Nightmare: Dreaming Reality. Creatively integrating material from several of Cazo Dance Theatre's previous shows with several brand-new dances, Nightmare blurs the lines between our dreams and reality.

"When you are in a certain state of mind, it's sometimes hard to know what's real and what's simply a figment of your imagination," says Artistic Director Bridgette Borzillo. "Many of our everyday fears and anxieties can be addressed and settled as we sleep, but there are plenty of nightmares that are all too real and much harder to resolve as we live through them daily. If anything has proven that, it's Covid-19."

Nightmare: Dreaming Reality was originally set to premiere in the Fall of 2020 as a multi-media experience, utilizing video as well as live dancers to accentuate how real some nightmares can be. Unfortunately, the show was shelved due to the theatre closures during the pandemic.

"It was very disappointing to find out that we weren't going to be able to perform on a stage in front of a live audience," says Borzillo. "Our dancers put so much hard work into the pieces, I hated the thought of having to cancel it altogether. Luckily we were able to create a condensed version of the show to present live online. It wasn't near what I had originally envisioned, bit it gave the dancers a chance to showcase their hard work. Suffice it to say, I'm excited to get back on the stage and show the audience my vision as it was originally intended."

Nightmare: Dreaming Reality will be performed at the Phoenix Center for the Arts (1202 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, AZ) on Friday, October 22 at 8pm and Saturday, October 23 at 4:30 and 8pm. Tickets are on sale now at or on Cazo Dance Company's official Facebook Page. Prices are $25 for general audiences, $20 for students, and $45 for VIP (Limited Quantities). Doors open 30 minutes prior to the top of show and will have a pre-show performance to get you in the mood. A live stream option will also be available for those who are unable to attend or are still uncomfortable with large crowds.

"We've all been living a nightmare in one way or another for the past eighteen months, which is why I'm thrilled to bring dance back to the community and can't wait to see what new and wonderful things will come of this whole experience.
