Whiskey Row New Year's Eve Boot Drop

Ready to give 2021 the boot? The planners of this year's Whiskey Row New Year's Eve Boot Drop are ready to help folks mark the end of the year in a big way. Revelers can say goodbye to 2021 at the 11th annual celebration on Friday, December 31st, 2021 from 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Montezuma Street in downtown Prescott. The event, which will feature "boot drops" at 10 p.m. and midnight, is free to all ages and event promoters encourage safe celebrating through social distancing and face coverings. The festive 6-foot illuminated cowboy boot lowers down from a 40-foot flagpole from atop the historic Palace building with 2 drops; the first at 10pm and the second drop at midnight. As the crowd cheers in the New Year, fireworks will light up the night sky. The earlier drop occurs simultaneously with the traditional "Ball Drop" in New York City. It is especially popular with young families and those who wish to retire early after celebrating the New Year. The Whiskey Row Boot Drop event is woven into Prescott's holiday spirit and is a fitting closing celebration in Arizona's Christmas City. Prizes are given throughout the night with DJ music by Magic 99.1 FM, giveaways, food and drink from vendors.
