The cultural and historical significance of Juneteenth will be explored through the various genre of music; gospel, blues, jazz and R and B. Speakers will elaborate on the Emancipation Celebration which will reflect on the past, honor the present and look to the future. Since 1865, Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States and is now a Federal Holiday. This event will be a day of celebration and will be enjoyed by all.
