The Berkeley Baroque Strings opens its final concert of the season with “Overture Burlesque” by Georg Philipp Telemann. Johann Sebastian Bach’s familiar “Concerto for Harpsichord and Strings in D Major” will be performed by soloist Charlotte Gaylord. Other works on the program, which will feature members of the orchestra, are Bach’s “Non sa che sia dolore” from “Cantata 209,” “Cantata 55” for tenor, flute, violin, and cello, and Telemann’s “Overture Wassermusik.”

Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, frequent leader of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and member of the New Esterhazy Quartet and Agave Baroque, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.

The concert takes place on Tuesday, May 31st, 7:30 pm at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, 2837 Claremont Blvd., Berkeley.
Admission is free. Donations gratefully accepted.

The program will be repeated as part of the Berkeley Festival Fringe concerts on Saturday, June 4th, 7:30 pm at First Congregational Church, 2330 Durant Ave., Berkeley. Tickets at the door $20; students $10; children under 12 free.

Masks and proof of vaccination are required.
