"I'll give up my life if I get caught" Pencilo who had 2.3M follower on social media was interviewed by MBC while she was on the run.

Bayarea Burmese Community is hosting Pencilo, an author/ social media activist who recently escaped from  Myanmar. She was critical of military junta who overthrew the democratically elected civilian government led by Aung San Suu Kyi and her party, National League for Democracy (NLD). People of Myanmar have been united and engaging peaceful protest since the coup of February 1 2021. The military has been more brutal in cracking down shooting indiscriminately killing more 1000 civilians even many young children.

Come and join us to hear Pencilo who will share her first hand accounts of Myanmar Spring Revolution, her dangerous escape to USA, challenges Myanmar and it’s people are facing. We will also collect donations to support many internal displaced people all over Myamar due to the military’s attacks on its own people.

Delicious and authentic Burmese Dinner will be served as Burmese are the most hospitable people !!
