Free online workshop presented by the Elysian Valley Arts Collective and taught by renowned author, journalist, editor Rex Weiner with special guest poet, author, educator Harry Gamboa Jr.
Born and raised in East LA, Gamboa is the founder and director of the international performance troupe Virtual Vérité. He is also a co-founder of Asco, the East Los Angeles based Chicano art collective and performance group. He is currently Co-Director, School of Art - Program in Photography and Media at CalArts. His latest book is called “Flower of the Dead”, poems written in the era of masks and social distancing - a post-modern offering to the recent past.
Rex Weiner: Rex is an investigative journalist writing for publications in the US and Europe. He's the author of the rock 'n' roll crime noir series "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" and he's also an editor, stage/screen writer. Rex is a co-founder and executive director of the Todos Santos Writers Workshop and serves on the Board of Trustees for Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice.
