Many of Hollywood's Golden Age movies were directed, produced, and written by immigrants to America. From June 1 through June 15, the East Bay International Jewish Film Festival will present the series FROM EUROPE WITH FILM in partnership with the CCJCC and Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation. The series will feature in-person screenings of Michael Curtiz's CASABLANCA and Otto Preminger's BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING at the Lafayette Library. Billy Wilder's SUNSET BOULEVARD will be available for streaming online for three days. There will also be two lectures by film enthusiast and historian Lynne Thorner deconstructing two of the films. Erik Preminger, who is Otto Preminger's son, will give an insider's view of his father's life and explore the making of one of his father's later movies, BUNNY LAKE IS MISSING.
Admission for each program is $5. Free for IJWC Year-round Programming subscribers who will receive complimentary registration for all the series programs. Check website for dates and times.
