Looking for fun ways to celebrate Independence Day in San Francisco? The Fourth of July Pub Crawl is one of the most popular events in the city and a great way to spend the day. Even better, the event includes a chance to see an awesome competitive eating competition live. If you are a fan of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, but don’t want to make the trek across the country to Brooklyn, then you are in luck. While it can’t really compare with the annual event at Coney Island (Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is and always will be the G.O.A.T.), The San Francisco Hot Dog Eating Contest is the next best thing and it takes place in the Bay Area.

The contest will take place during CrawlSF’s Fourth of July Pub Crawl, next to El Lopo on Austin Street. The street will be shut down for a mini-block party, complete with a DJ, some fun patriotic decor and a perfect outdoor setting to throw back a few drinks with friends. The Block party will run from 4PM to 9PM and the Hot Dog Eating Contest will start at 7:30PM.
