House & Garden Experience 1st-5th Grades Relaunches in September of 2018 Students are led by chaperones on a station-based experience through the House and Garden. Station volunteers lead activities that connect students to art, architecture, history, and the individuals who steward the Estate’s past and present. Each student receives an Experience Guide which will help them find relevance in the experiences of others and make connections to how they live now. This program is rich with content and HSSC connections, but your students will be so engaged they won’t realize they are learning. Students will compare and contrast everyday life and recognize that some aspects of people, places, and things change over time while others stay the same. They will use maps and compare transportation methods of earlier days to how they travel now.
