Al and Leigh Buettner Signature Series presents, the Philharmonic’s ‘Mozart and Schoenberg’ in celebration of October is Arts Month. Mozart’s brightly-lit Symphony 39 was the first of his final symphonies near the end of his young life. An astonishing work, it shows Amadeus ahead of his time with a feeling of perpetual motion and melody. Arnold Schoenberg’s brilliant score for his Chamber Symphony achieves something remarkable: a hugely expressive experience using a small body of musicians and in a single movement! Two composers – Mozart and Schoenberg – each ahead of their time. Thomas Wilson will be conducting. Tickets start at $28. Discounts available. • Oct 8, 2022 at 07:30 pm (Sat) • Oct 9, 2022 at 02:30 pm (Sun) Kids get in free - “Free for Kids” offers young audiences an invitation to hear the Philharmonic perform live, in a true concert setting. Admission for ages 7 to17 is complimentary, and made possible, in part, by the support of GE Johnson Construction Company and annual gifts from other generous donors. Here’s how it works: For every adult ticket purchased at regular price, the Philharmonic provides up to two “Free for Kids” tickets. To take advantage of this offer, make your request in person at the Pikes Peak Center Box Office and our staff will happily handle the rest. Join us for Colorado Springs Philharmonic Pre-Concert talks. Go behind the curtain and inside the score with these 30-minute pre-concert conversations featuring conductors and guest artists giving their take on the program. Talks begin one hour before performance time. http://www.eventsnearhere.com/find-events/CO/CO-SPGS/Music/Concerts/addetail/199306/‘Mozart-and-Schoenberg’
