Music at the Mansion Returns in 2021

Middletown, CT. The Friends of Long Hill Estate and the Long Hill Estate Authority are excited to host their Music at the Mansion series again this year. All concerts will begin at 6:30pm. The grounds will be open for picnicking at 5:30pm.  Parking will be at Wilbert Snow School, 299 Wadsworth Street, and at Mercy High School, 1740 Randolph Road.  Handicap parking is available at the Mansion.   As there is limited parking at the Mansion, ALL vehicles will be directed to Mercy High School/Snow School when Mansion parking is full. Concerts will be held in light rain or the threat of showers, but cancelled with the proximity of electrical storms that may endanger both guests and musicians.

Bring a picnic or enjoy food from our participating food trucks.

Please note that the Mansion is closed during the concerts. There are port-o-potty’s located on the west side of the lawn by the garage and at the rear of the overflow parking lot. There is a 10 minute intermission and the Mansion grounds close 30 minutes after the conclusion of the concert.
The concert schedule is:

June 30: Professors of Sweet, Sweet Music
July 7: Moto
July 14: CJ West and the Downtown Train
July 21: Someone You Can Xray
August 4: Rain Date

The fun starts off with The Professors of Sweet, Sweet Music (POSSM) on June 30th. Their original songs are a surprising collection of songwriting and arranging that harkens back to groups and musicians who have become icons in the industry. The POSSM play live shows often, and entertain crowds with an energetic style that and broad appeal.

On July 7th we welcome Moto.  The band is a five piece group known for their fun swaying reggae, partying rhythms, soca sounds and uplifting fun music. For their performance at the Mansion they will collaborate with Bickley Rivera; internationally acclaimed steel pan artist, one of South Florida’s most popular performers. She has gained international attention with the album “Chillin’ After Five” produced by Greg Minnick, currently airing in over 50 countries worldwide. Bickley and her husband Nelson led the popular CT band, Cuba Libre before relocating to Tampa in 2001.

CJ West and the Downtown Train will be performing on our rain date of July 14th. Take A TRIP on The Train to Woodstock 1969! CJ West and The Downtown Train will be taking you on trip through time with a tribute to the bands that graced the stage at Woodstock in 1969.  Relive moments that made rock and roll history: the sights, the sounds and the songs.  The Who, Janis Joplin, CSN, Jimi Hendrix, Melanie, The Grateful Dead, and Santana to name a few.  Get out your headbands, love-beads, tie-dyeds, bell bottoms, peace signs, ALL that “hippie” stuff and immerse yourself into Woodstock 1969.

Someone You Can Xray will perform for the first time at our music series on July 21st. Founded in 2012, Someone You Can Xray has followed its roots, though the band has evolved from an acoustic duo into a dynamic electric stage ensemble.  With a high-energy funky rock n’ blues sound, ‘Xray’ is as much at home in an acoustic listening room as on a festival stage, engaging listeners to sing and dance along.
