Facing Life
Facing Life is designed to bring to life the digital experience of The Visiting Room Project through a series of events that invite members of the Yale and New Haven community into conversation with men profiled by the project, members of the project team, and New Haveners who are working locally to disrupt mass incarceration. Our hope is to spark ongoing local conversations and collective action around ways to support our community members who are or have been detained in prisons and jails.
The Visiting Room Project
The Visiting Room Project is "a digital experience that invites the public to sit face-to-face with people serving life without the possibility of parole to hear them tell their stories, in their own words." Facing Life is designed to bring that digital experience to life through a daylong series of events that invites members of the Yale and New Haven community to be in conversation with men profiled by the project, members of the project team, and New Haveners who are working locally to disrupt mass incarceration. Our hope is to spark ongoing local conversations and collective action around ways to support our community members who are or have been detained in prisons and jails.
