GOODWILL ASKS CENTRAL FLORIDA TO ‘DECLUTTER FOR A CAUSE’ IN FEBRUARY

Donations Fund Workforce Development and Employment Assistance Services

WHAT:

With the holidays over and spring fast approaching, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is inviting everyone to “Declutter for a Cause.”

The nonprofit wants to tap into the monthlong initiative that aims to motivate people to clean out unused belongings for donation.

For more than 60 years, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (GICF) has been collecting and selling donated merchandise, which has provided vocational training and job placement services to hundreds of thousands of people. The organization directly channels 90% of its annual revenue into programs that enable Central Floridians to secure meaningful employment, achieve personal goals and thrive economically. Right now, GICF is actively recruiting to fill a variety of jobs, including managerial and director-level positions, such as varying roles in Retail store management, marketing, facilities and construction, employee relations, workforce development and payroll.

Goodwill’s mission also benefits the local environment. In 2022, the organization diverted more than 20 million pounds of clothing and household goods from local landfills.
