Augusta-CSRA 2024 Memorial Day Observance

The Augusta Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars is proud to host the Augusta-CSRA 2024 Memorial Day Observance at the All Wars Monument in downtown Augusta to honor all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. The ceremony will include the traditional raising and lowering of flags to half-staff, the firing of a 3-volley salute, and the playing of Taps, in honor of the fallen, by the Fort Eisenhower Installation Support Detachment. Mayor Garnett Johnson and Congressman Rick Allen will provide remarks, Major General Paul T. Stanton, Commanding General, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and Fort Eisenhower, will serve as the guest speaker, and Gold Star family members will be honored and recognized. Special music will be performed by SGM Mike Culbertson, U.S. Army, Retired (soloist) and Mr. Gary Hassan (bagpipes). Dr. James Brady, Georgia Military College, MOWW Region V Commander, and Chair, Vietnam War Memorial Initiative, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
