DHL and DeKalb County Partner to Plant 100 Trees During GoGreen Celebration

DHL Express, the world's leading provider of international express shipping services, is celebrating its commitment to sustainability and its local communities with a public, eco-conscious extravaganza in Stone Mountain, GA. On Saturday, October 15^th, the community is invited to a free, outdoor event at Wade Walker Park, hosted by DHL Express and DeKalb County.

 The event will feature a variety of Green-themed activities and prize giveaways for the whole family, including:

• Take Home a Free Plant: DHL is planting 100 trees and giving away  succulent plants to attendees of the event.          
• Invasive Species Workshop: Learn more about on invasive species and sustainability led by Tree Atlanta, a charitable organization founded in 1985, with a goal of mitigating Atlanta’s tree loss, protecting its forests, and increasing its tree canopy.
• Green Family Fun: There will be entertainment for younger visitors including arts-and-crafts activities, seed planting and face painting. Every guest will also receive a special GoGreen goodie bag from DHL, while supplies last.
• See Solar in Action: Check out a mobile, solar-powered DHL pop-up store, which was developed to provide greater accessibility and convenience for customers in the local market. The 100% off-the-grid retail store is boosted by a solar-powered system with backup batteries charged at the local service center, helping to reduce energy consumption and contributing to DHL’s mission to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
• Check Out an E-Bike: See one of DHL’s e-Cargo Cycles up close! These e-bikes are used for deliveries in select areas across the country. Each one deployed enables DHL to take one conventional delivery van off the road, reducing road traffic, noise and pollution while still providing fast efficient deliveries for customers.
