Hope+Elim Juneteenth Celebration | Sounds of Freedom

Join us for our special Juneteenth Celebration to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

The celebration will include powerful worship, inspiring spoken word, history through dramatic skits, Afrobeats dance, a gospel choir and musical performances by local talents.

Special guests include:

+ The Isiserettes
+ Bridges 2 Harmony
+ Genesis Youth Foundation
+ Judges Romonda D. Belcher, Odell McGhee and Company

A light dinner will be available from 5:15-5:50pm.
Our Sounds of Freedom Celebration is 6:00-8:00 pm.

"Regardless of a person's background, place of origin, ethnicity, place of worship, gender, orientation, color of skin or political party, I pray that celebrating Juneteenth would inform, inspire and ignite a flame of hope that would burn in every heart, every ear and every soul. A flame that would lead to sustainable actions, attitudes and advocation of racial justice and racial equity in our local community, our city and in our nation.

I clearly recognize that we have come a long way since June 19th, 1865, while at the same time we clearly still have a long way to go. The impact of slavery and oppression has had an accumulated affect that is still felt by African Americans today.

We can celebrate Juneteenth every day when we commit to take a stand against racial injustice of all people of color and marginalized populations."
