“ROCK DOWN TO ELECTRIC AVENUE”
2019 Live Music in the Park Season ‘Takes it Higher’
Family Friendly Fest Runs Thursdays, July 11- August 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
BERKELEY, IL (JUNE 2019) – Village of Berkeleyinvites the public to “rock down to Electric Avenue” for its 2019 live Music in the Park season. Taking the lyrics from the 1983 hit by Eddy Grant, the Village is ‘taking it higher’ with their new Electric Nights: Music in the Park Series,July 11th, 18th, 25th and August 1st, adding more family friendly fun, food and camaraderie to the event.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their picnic blanket and chairs and enjoy a meal from one of the area restaurants or local not-for-profit host organizations that will be offering food and beverages each week. Each Thursday a different band will perform a variety of music genres for all ages.
“Our new Electric Nights will build upon our Music in the Park series and bring more people to enjoy a night out in the great outdoors in the Village of Berkeley,” says Jerry Perez, Village Trustee. “We’re currently looking for businesspartners, food vendors and interactive things to do for our attendees to make this not only a great night out for our residents, but a destination for surrounding communities.”
The Village of Berkeley is excited to announce the 2019 dates and live music line up from 6:30-8:30 p.m., held at Berkeley Park (5819 Electric Avenue, across from Village Hall). They are free and open to all!

- July 18 - Tony Ocean, Genre: Retro: Community Host - Lions Club
- July 25 - Crossfire Genre: Classic Rock: Community Host - Berkeley Community Garden Club
- August 1 - Cielito Lindo, Genre: Latin: Community Host - Neighborhood Watch
“We’re aiming to attract Berkeley residents and all of our neighbors to experience these fun events in a community setting,” says Sherry Graf-Stone, Village Trustee. “Summer months go by so quickly in the Midwest, so we hope our neighbors save the date to enjoy their warm evenings with us!”
