Friends of the Silvis Library Good Friday Bake Sale

Looking for an opportunity to purchase delicious deserts, while supporting a good cause? The Friends of the Silvis Public Library will be holding their annual Good Friday Bake Sale on April 7th from 10am to 3pm.

In addition to baked goods, the Friends’ sale will also include raffle baskets and a 50/50 drawing. New for this year, the Friends will be holding a Bag-of-Books Sale. People will be able to buy a bag of books for the low, low cost of $2. The Friends will provide the purchaser with a heavy-duty, reusable, recyclable shopping bag.

The annual bake sale is the primary fundraiser for the Friends of the Silvis Public Library. These funds allow the group to support library purchases and projects that would not otherwise be possible. In the past, Friends funds were used to cover the costs of bulletin boards for the teen and children’s areas, books for the Summer Reading Program, a children’s sensory table, arts and crafts supplies, performer fees, movie licensing, and reading rewards for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, just to name a few.

The Silvis Royal Neighbors, Chapter 20167, will once again be partnering with the Friends to make this event even MORE successful! Royal Neighbors has agreed to match up to $1,000 in bake sale donations!

Community members can also help by donating tasty treats for the bake sale and gently used items for the book sale. Beginning April 1st, book donations will be accepted at the Silvis Public Library’s circulation counter. Baked goods should be dropped off on Thursday, April 6th from 10am to 5pm.

Please support the Friends of the Public Library and either shop at or donate to the annual bake and book sale.
