The Umbrella Arts Center is home to more than 60 working artists skilled in a variety of fine and applied arts including ceramics, glass, fiber arts, jewelry making, illustration, mixed-media, painting, photography, printmaking, illustration, sculpture, woodworking, writing and more. Since the organization’s founding Studio Artists have been at the heart of making this facility a community asset and wellspring of creative activity. A cherished tradition in Concord, annual Open Studios is an incredible opportunity to meet diverse artists, learn about their process, and share in celebrating their work.

This year, due to the pandemic, The Umbrella’s reimagined Open Studios heads outdoors to the front lawn of 40 Stow Street, Concord! As part of the multi-week art of Artfest, Open Studios 2021 will feature exhibits from dozens of our amazing Studio Artists in limited time-slots (10:30AM-4PM) with social distancing over two weekends in May:

- May 1
- May 2
- May 8
- May 9

Plus, enjoy demonstrations from The Umbrella Ceramics Studios, find information about upcoming Arts Education classes and summer camps, see The Umbrella’s interactive and temporary Here Comes the Sun multimedia and lighting art installation, view over 50 artworks up for auction in the Main Gallery, and explore the “Change is in the Air” Art Walk public art exhibition in various green spaces throughout Concord.

FREE EVENT, but there will be limited capacity; for the safety of all participants, RSVP REQUIRED for timed entry as well as advance health survey checks through the new Umbrella Artsfest App. See
