Two Day Program August 19th and 20th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00p.m.
Participants: Local and global teen teens ages 14 -19
* Build relationship between local and Iraq teens
* Experience the power of diversity, inclusion and cultural differences
* Understand and implement inclusive leadership style that promotes diversity and allows for more creative thinking
* Make life-long friends from around the world
* Engage in service-leader project that impacts our local community
This is a two-day interactive global youth leadership program focused on understanding the impact of inclusive leadership and how it impacts our communities from the better..
Objective: Students from both Iraq and local high schools will discover ways to promote mutual understanding between these two countries through engaging activities, small group projects and large group discussions. Students will also be involved with an on-sight service-learning opportunity. Pulling from the best leadership and stewardship practices each participant will be challenged to think bigger than their world by focusing on becoming a more global minded citizen that contributes in positive ways to not only their community but the world. This program will also address ways we are challenged by differences and how we can own our voice while allowing others the same privilege so that bridges of understanding are built, and consensus is realized.
Who Can Attend: Teens ages 14-19?
Preparation: Students need to know this is an indoor and outdoor program and that there will be some physical activities, so they need to wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
Cost: $79.00 for two-day program. *Scholarships available
Included: All supplies, snacks, drinks and lunches for both days..
*Outdoor activities will be moved inside and altered in increment weather.
Certificate of Completion: Each participant will receive a certificate w/ stated community service and hours.
Fun and highly enjoyable, students should prepare to have a great day of self-discovery and heightened awareness of different cultures.
