Benefit for Mark Verbeck

Mark is military veteran, and Hastings native who has suffered from service related diabetes. In February Mark went to the doctor after noticing a sore on his heel wasn't healing very well. The doctors dug out what infection they could. Mark was sent home to dress and clean it at home while having check ups with the doctors. On Monday March 18th Mark heard a loud pop come from his foot, and extreme pain came right after. Mark went into the ER, and after having an MRI it was confirmed that the infection had gone to the bone. After talking with family and doctors the decision was made to amputate his foot. Mark was the main provider for the family, and is now unable to work. Family has set up a benefit with a silent auction, and venmo account to help raise money for bills, gas and house hold items. This way Mark does not have to worry about bills, and his kids that are still living at home while he starts his healing journey.
