Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence (L.E.A.D.) is having its second annual 5k Run/Walk in Asbury Park on Saturday, October 2, at 9 a.m. Hosted by L.E.A.D., which teaches students about the dangers of drugs and violence, the race, sponsored by Colliers Engineering and Design and Green Team Worldwide Environmental Group, will take place at Bradley Park, located at 101-199 5th Ave. in Asbury Park.

Supported by dedicated police officers, L.E.A.D. provides leadership and resources so law enforcement agencies can partner with educators, community leaders and families with the only proven effective anti–drug, anti–violence curriculum for students K-12. Over the course of the 10-week program, officers and educators teach the L.E.A.D. curriculum to educate our youth on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs. L.E.A.D. currently operates in 37 states across the U.S.

The race will be a loop, starting and finishing from the Convention Hall. It will go down the boardwalk, through Ocean Grove and Bradley Beach, turning at the fountain in Bradley Park.  All runners will be provided with accurate times.

The run will occur as scheduled:
