Explore the captivating Jewish heritage of Toronto, one of North America’s largest and most diverse Jewish communities, on this live, virtual walking tour. With a heritage dating back to the mid-19th century, Toronto is home to a vibrant mix of Ashkenazi, Sephardic, Mizrahi, and Ethiopian Jews, reflected in the community’s synagogues, cultural organizations, restaurants, and celebrations. The local guide, a scholar of Jewish history, will take tourists to local landmarks from the historic Kensington Market neighborhood to the modern Forest Hills Jewish Centre and discuss the community’s strong tradition of social justice and activism, which continues to this day.
This is a virtual event. Admission is $18 for members of the Museum of Jewish Heritage and $25 for non-Museum members.
