Community of Faith Church will be launching a new monthly event called "Bar Talks." The first Bar Talk will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, 6 - 8 pm at the Nineteen33 Taproom (1873 Willamette Falls Drive, West Linn, OR). The community is invited.

The theme is Faith, Medicine and Ethics: On Human Dignity. Guest speakers include:
Dr. Paul Metzger, Multnomah University
Dr. Robert Potter, Oregon Health and Science University

Some topics of discussion will include: What gives us our dignity as humans? Moving from a culture of things to persons. How do we bring the human person back to life in society at the crossroads of faith, medicine and ethics? How does Christian spirituality play into medicine and ethics? And much more!

Martin Luther, a seminal figure in the Protestant Reformation, was famous for his dinner table discussions. So much, in fact, that a book, Table Talk, put many of these theological discussions into writing. Bar Talks is designed to replicate these theological/spiritual discussions with an emphasis on the issues of today.

Attendance is limited to 50 people. The first drink is on us. Food is available for purchase. We look forward to an enlightening and civil discussion.
