The 20th annual Peace Fair hosts 100 exhibitors, artists and crafts vendors spread out under the ancient oaks of Buckingham Township. The fair features area non-profits whose focus is peace, community service, education and the environment, as well as artists and craftspeople from Bucks and surrounding counties. The Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania and the Bachman Players of Easton will open the fair at 10:30 with a tribal drum circle and an opportunity to meet Ben Franklin, William Penn and other historical figures. Entertainment includes Tookany Creek (bluegrass band), Ecoman (kids’ songs), and River Drivers (Celtic folk band), and there are animals to pet and games and activities for all ages from toddlers to grandparents. At midday, reigning Bucks County Poet Laureate Carly Volpe of Doylestown is featured at the annual Poetry Reading. The Peace Fair is located at the historic Buckingham Friends Meetinghouse on Rt. 202/263 in Lahaska, next door to Peddlers Village, and admission and parking are free to the public (donations welcome).
