The American Jewish community played a meaningful role in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, AND, Jews lived for too long resting on the laurels of Heschel, Schwerner, and Goodman, AND the responses of southern Jews was often muted in fear of reprisal, AND an Atlanta synagogue was firebombed for their position on civil rights.
Rabbi Jack Paskoff of Lancaster's Congregation Shaarai Shomayim, a popular instructor at LTS for decades, offers this six-class series for everyone who seeks to deepen their understanding of religious engagement in the pubic sphere.
2.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available following completion of the series.
