EVENT DOES NOT TAKE PLACE EVERY DAY BETWEEN AUGUST AND DECEMBER. DATES FOR THIS LEGO LEAGUE SEASON HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED YET BY FLL. PLAN ON MEETING ONCE OR TWICE WEEKLY.
Hello! We are actively seeking new members to join our FIRST LEGO League (FLL) team for the 2020/2021 season! If you are unfamiliar with FLL, click the following link to learn more about the organization.
The FLL is a fun and challenging organization that introduces children to exciting STEM/STEAM fields. We are involved with the FIRST LEGO League “CHALLENGE” division which is for children in grades 4th-8th or children aged 9-14.
In the CHALLENGE division, there are 3 main competition areas: The Robot Game, The Innovation Project, and Core Values.
The Robot Games consists of building and programming a LEGO robot to complete missions and earn as many points as possible. (Don’t worry, it’s much easier than it sounds)
The Innovation Project is tricky. There is a wide variety of topics that could be presented each season. Most of the time, students are tasked with designing creative solutions to real-world problems. Students generally have to design a solution, create a presentation, and even create a fun skit!
Core Values: this aspect of the competition is judged throughout every part of the competition. Students must show the utmost respect for the FIRST Core Values
Discovery: We explore new skills and ideas.
Innovation: We use creativity and persistence to solve problems.
Impact: We apply what we learn to improve our world.
Inclusion: We respect each other and embrace our differences.
Teamwork: We are stronger when we work together.
Fun: We enjoy and celebrate what we do!
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to text me. If you must call me, please leave a message as I do not usually answer calls from unknown numbers.
There are 10 available slots so please hurry and apply!
Requirements to join:

- No experience with LEGOs is needed! FLL’s focus isn’t only building with LEGOs. All needed info and knowledge will be taught to new members
- This is a serious competition, but it is fun at the same time! Students are expected to behave in a mature manner and take the competition seriously or they may be asked to leave.
