This year’s Nashville Juneteenth celebration will be a “citywide celebration of freedom.” Celebrations will be held that consist of over 20 events from Hadley Park to Buchanan, Antioch and Madison TN. The events being held are specialized for both children and adults. Several organizations have partnered together to ensure the entire Nashville community has the opportunity to take part in unified acts of recognition. Juneteenth is a national holiday that focuses on African American's liberation. On June 19, 1865, slaves in America experienced genuine freedom from their masters. In celebration of this historical accomplishment, the city of Nashville will pause to remember this holiday from June 14th to the 19th.
The Equity Alliance and MOJO MKTG + PR have joined forces to spearhead a collective citywide Juneteenth celebration for all of Nashville to enjoy. This collaboration is one that amplifies Black Nashville culture and businesses. This year, we want to celebrate ourselves, while focusing on the community. Throughout the various celebrations, we want to make our voice heard, while our culture is being seen. We want Nashville to have the biggest Juneteenth celebration and this is the first step.
