This Pulitzer Prize-winning classic features one of the most ravishing, moving and endlessly inventive musical scores ever written as it depicts the struggles and sacrifices of George, a fictionalized version of Seurat, immersing himself deeply in painting his magnum opus and his great-grandson (also named George), a conflicted and cynical contemporary artist who finds the answer to his future in his past.
