SONGS OF BLACK FOLK provides a musical "fine arts" experience with a journey through black culture.
Celebrating the music of resistance and hope, Songs of Black Folk presents a tradition of music that began on the African continent and - through slave ships and the daily suffering of an enslaved people's spirituals- birthed America's culture of blues, jazz, gospel, rock, RandB, Funk, Hip-Hop and spoken word. SBF now returns with a bigger, bolder and grander evening merging world-class symphonic orchestral firepower with soaring choral and operatic splendor, creating Seattle's most meaningful, uplifting and unforgettable Juneteenth celebration - a combination of Carnegie Hall virtuosity with Apollo Theater enthusiasm.
