Double bassist Xavier Foley joins Northwest Sinfonietta and conductor Jeffery Meyer, performing Bottesini's virtuosic Gran duo concertante with violinist Denise Dillenbeck, and his own powerful composition, For Justice and Peace. Clarice Assad's playful Suite for Lower Strings highlights famous tunes by J.S. Bach in a fantasy suite to open the concert, and Beethoven's epic Symphony No. 7 closes. This concert is performed in two unique venues in the South Sound. Enjoy the fabulous acoustics and traditional concert hall atmosphere on Saturday, May 4 at 7:30pm at the historic Rialto Theater in Tacoma with reserved seating. Sunday, May 5 is a 2pm matinee performance at the beautiful Pioneer Park Pavilion in Puyallup. Seating at the Pavilion is general admission at tables, and patrons are welcome to bring food to enjoy during the concert. Wine and snacks available for purchase.
