WRPC Safety & Skills Classes Offered Summer 2021!

The Wenatchee Row & Paddle Club (WRPC) is excited to offer three options for 1-Day Skill & Safety courses this summer led by American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructor, Heather Herbeck. These high-quality courses give new and experienced paddlers critical safety information and hands-on practice to safely and enjoyably paddle on gentle rivers, such as our local stretch of the Columbia River. Come and learn for the first time, or get a refresher on information every rower and paddler should know including efficient paddle strokes, river features, safety and rescue essentials.

What courses are available?

A 1-Day Beginner/Refresher course is offered on July 10th and August 14th and an Intermediate course is available on August 15th (the Intermediate course builds on information taught in the Beginner/Refresher course).

Who can sign-up?

WRPC club members are eligible to sign up as a membership benefit and to comply with the club's insurance policy. All boater-types are welcome including kayakers, canoeists, SUPers and rowers, however kayak instruction is the skills focus of the class. If you are not yet a member, this is a great time to join WRPC! The Safety & Skills courses will give you the training needed to safely launch your watersport career. Club dues are $100 per year for Individual Memberships and $150 per year for Family Memberships. New memberships pay an initial Joining Fee of $100 in addition to the Annual Dues. Members receive unlimited access to our boathouses for storage, dock, club-owned boats, paddles, oars, and safety gear, as well as all club activities and events.

How much does it cost?

The 1-Day Beginner/Refresher course is only $35 for a limited time thanks to club funding. The regular price for the 1-Day class is $125 so be sure to sign-up soon! The full-day Intermediate course is $125.
