Ayurveda, in Sanskrit, means “The Science of Life.” As a sister science of yoga, it is the world’s oldest organized health/healing system with origins in India from over 5,000 years ago. Susan Pack, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and Ayurvedic Chef shares her in-depth knowledge for you to easily learn and apply how this timeless wisdom is relevant to your health and wellbeing today. Workshop One: Introduction to Ayurveda Learn about the three Doshas: Vata [air + ether], Pita [fire + water], and Kapha [earth + water] and how they uniquely manifest in each of us. In this workshop you will: • take a personal assessment to determine your unique constitution • learn how to balance your Doshas • understand how to adapt an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Learning to pay closer attention to the factors that influence balance is the key to prevention for optimal health. Workshop Two: Ayurveda Nutrition Once you have gained an understanding of your constitutional makeup during Workshop One, you will explore what foods are truly best for you. During this workshop you will: • learn about the six tastes • why your digestion is so important and tips to improve your digestive fire • learn when and how to eat your meals for optimal health Experience how "The Mother of All Healing" concepts are most relevant today. Workshop Three: Ayurveda Cooking Now that you understand your constitution and what/when to eat, it’s important to acquire new daily habits as well as seasonal practices. This will help you to maintain balance, not only throughout the day but also throughout the year. In this cooking demonstration, Susan will show you how to easily apply these principles to create nourishing foods for a healthy, balanced life. $35 individual workshop or $90 for all three
