The Community Coalition for Social Justice invites everyone to explore the theme of "West Virginia Civil Rights Leaders" on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Main Street Morgantown co-sponsors this family-friendly event. The City of Morgantown provides financial support. The WVU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will provide the program via Zoom and Facebook Live. Pre-register at https://bit.ly/3mnuXgw for Zoom. No registration is required for Facebook. For Facebook Live, on the January 18th, go to https://www.facebook.com/olliatwvu, and the stream should appear at the top of the OLLI page.
Our program will include information about some of West Virginia's civil rights leaders and a performance by Ilene Evans portraying Memphis Tennessee Garrison, a teacher and NAACP leader. Demarcus Bandy will represent the NAACP with a presentation on "Structural and Systemic Racism and How to Build an Equitable Future." Janis-Rozena Peri will sing.
