Biography

The Annual Spring Fling

The annual Spring Fling benefitting the Teton Music School is a fundraising event centered around a public concert. The event showcases a dynamic cross section of musicians, specifically the Teton Music School Rock Bands, local professional musicians, and potentially national touring acts depending on artist availability and annual opportunities. When presented outdoors, this annual event brings together our community in a large picnic atmosphere right as the school season ends and people shift into summer gear. It is an opportunity for local school age kids to celebrate each other's talents while enjoying a professionally produced concert event, with a decidedly locally oriented approach.

The opportunity for the music school rock bands to perform on stage in front of an audience that is convened provides a massive opportunity for the students. They use the year to plan, practice and learn about concert performance. Taylor Upton (whiskey morning) coaches the group throughout the year. The rock band performs a 45 - 75 minute set

The Teton Music School

The Teton Music School is a non profit group operating out of the center for the arts. With a mission to provide accessible music education and exceptional music experiences, Teton Music School pairs renowned instructors with eager students in the premier music facilities at the Center for the Arts in Jackson, WY. TMS unlocks a life of music for children and adults through private instruction, group classes/ensembles and summer camps with nearly 200 students learning from a faculty of 11 local professional musicians. In partnership with One22 and Boundless, scholarships are provided to students in need, and tuition covers only 72% of our operating costs. The rest is fundraised through individual donations, grants and sponsorships.
